ASG-certified Chinese Stamps Featured in Spink Auction

The sale offers vintage Chinese stamps that have been authenticated, graded and encapsulated by ASG.

A vintage China 1967 8 Fen certified by Authenticated Stamp Guaranty™ (ASG®) is showcased in a Spink Philatelic Collector’s Series sale on May 28, 2022. Graded ASG XF 90 Mint OG, the stamp features “The Double Nine,” a poem written by Mao Zedong. This stamp (lot 514) has an estimated price of HK$18,000 to HK$20,000 (about $2,300 to $2,500 USD).

Other ASG-certified highlights in the sale include:

  • a group of eight China 1962 4 Fen to 50 Fen - Stage Art of Mei Lanfang graded ASG VF/XF 85 Mint OG to ASG XF 90 Mint OG (lot 443), which has an estimate of HK$85,000 to HK$95,000 (about $10,800 to $12,100 USD)
  • a group of eight China 1965 4 Fen to 52 Fen - Jinggang Mountains graded ASG VF/XF 85 Mint OG to ASG XF 90 Mint OG (lot 478), which has an estimate of HK$26,000 to HK$30,000 (about $3,300 to $3,800 USD)
  • a group of six China 1963 4 Fen to 10 Fen - Long Live Revolutionary Socialist Cuba graded ASG VF/XF 85 Mint OG to ASG XF 90 Mint OG (lot 447), which has an estimate of HK$23,000 to HK$30,000 (about $2,900 to $3,800 USD)
  • a group of five China 1960 8 Fen - Pig Breeding graded ASG VF/XF 85 Mint OG to ASG XF 90 Mint OG (lot 417), which has an estimate of HK$15,000 to HK$20,000 (about $1,900 to $2,500 USD)
  • a China 1968 8 Fen Loushanguan graded ASG XF 90 Mint OG (lot 512), which has an estimate of HK$9,000 to HK$10,000 (about $1,100 to $1,200 USD)
  • a China 1967 8 Fen - Sun of the Revolution graded ASG XF 90 Mint OG (lot 510), which has an estimate of HK$2,000 to HK$3,000 (about $250 to $380 USD)
