CCG Announces Major Initiatives in India

Posted on 4/8/2019

Collectors in India will benefit from a new Official Submission Center to NGC, NCS and PMG, as well as PMG on-site paper money grading.

The Certified Collectibles Group (CCG) has announced major initiatives in India, the world’s second-most populous country with more than 1.3 billion people. CCG’s independent member companies include Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), Numismatic Conservation Services (NCS) and Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).

CCG has appointed Peacock Bloom Numismatic, LLP (Peacock Bloom), an Official Submission Center to NGC, NCS and PMG in India. As an Official Submission Center in India, Peacock Bloom will assist Indian collectors and dealers with submissions to NGC, NCS and PMG. Peacock Bloom can also answer questions about the services and benefits of NGC, NCS and PMG.

NGC and PMG provide third-party authentication grading and encapsulation services for collectible coins and paper money, respectively. Each company is a leader in its category. NGC has certified more than 43 million coins since 1987, while PMG has certified nearly 4 million notes since 2005. NCS is a respected professional coin conservation service that has handled more than 1 million coins since 2001.

In another effort, PMG will conduct an on-site grading event in Chennai, India, from June 10-15, 2019. During this event, a team of PMG graders and operations specialists will perform their normal services in India with a significantly faster turnaround time. Submissions for the PMG India June On-site Grading Event should be made to Peacock Bloom on or before May 25, 2019.

“India has an extensive numismatic history as well as a vibrant—and growing—numismatic marketplace,” says Steven R. Eichenbaum, CEO of CCG. “We have carefully studied the India market for several years and we have decided to make a major first effort to serve collectors and dealers here. We are honored to be working with Peacock Bloom to make our services even more accessible.”

“There is significant demand for NGC, NCS and PMG’s expert and impartial services in India,” says Athappan Sundaram, Director of Peacock Bloom. “I am very pleased that these companies have already demonstrated such strong commitment to the country.”

Representatives from NGC, NCS and PMG will attend the Shukla Day Coin & Philately Fair in Mumbai, India, from April 19-21, 2019, to answer questions about the companies’ services and benefits.

All PMG on-site grading services are performed by NGC India Numismatic Services Private Limited (NGC India) under license and supervision by Paper Money Guaranty, LLC (PMG).
